The Author
I am science fiction and fantasy author, world traveler, and lover of the written word just like any other sentient flower pen out there. Ignore the human, she’s just along for the ride.
After a fire burned down my home at four years old, I developed a knack for seeing that funny silver lining around life’s charcoal husks. As the youngest of six kids, that skill came in handy. Despite my folks’ best efforts, it was hard to find space in such a crowded house, but I discovered entire worlds to roam in books. Tom Sawyer inspired me to do mischief, Harry Potter gave me a love of magic, and Ender Wiggin took me to the treacherous yet awe-inspiring stars. So, when it came time to choose a career path, it felt natural to pursue the closest I could get to science fiction—engineering. But my love of stories never left.
Today, I’m one of many talented writers in the A Bit of Luck Anthology by Wordfire Press, alternative history Anthology Honoring Eric Flint for my Vlad the Impaler inspired short story “A Brother’s Oath.” I was also recently recognized with an Honorable Mention in the Writer’s of the Future contest for my short story “The Joy of Necromancy” … even if that’s not how you spell my name. Ahem. Engineer by day and writer at night, I’ve been slowly growing the Uncommon Universe these past few years and am finally ready to share it.
The Artist
For those of you that don’t know him, Solace (@the.art.of.solace) is an amazing maker and artist who suffered a near death experience that left him physically tramatized. He pushed himself through physical therapy to rediscover his skills. He is one of the most resilient people I’ve ever met and just a genuinely good person.
